If you have clicked on this BLOG on the NBBC, then you will almost certainly be looking for more info and have questions about the NBBC.
The first and most obvious question will be – what is the NBBC?
Well let’s first be sure what it is not, and that is that it is not complicated!
It has been designed specifically for the average club golfer, and to this end uses better ball (the most popular playing format in club golf), stableford points, because this is the most forgiving scoring format that we have in golf.
The event also removes all of those troublesome time, date and place restrictions, which often trip us all up, even if it is only in us making it to the tee for a round in the club’s individual, or pairs knockout comp!
What the NBBC does do, is to allow the participating teams to enter scores from any officially run better ball comp at any time, on any date, and anywhere in South Africa!
Teams can also enter as many scores as they like, during and up to the end of the qualifying period, which will conclude at the end of February 2025.
The NBBC will then take each team’s scores, add together the best 3 scores logged by every team, which will determine each team’s final tournament score.
From this calculation, the final leaderboard will be confirmed, and the top 12 teams in South Africa will attend the Final – expenses paid, while staying at the Sandton Sun and Towers and playing 18 holes at Eagle Canyon, to determine which team will become the country’s national better ball champions!
Of course – all of this also adds great value to every standard club comp, which is no longer has to be just a standard club better ball competition, but which has the potential to be a qualifying round for the NBBC!
What does it cost – R 500.00 per team.
What can you win?
First, every team is a winner before they have even teed off, because following payment of the entry fee, each team will receive R 2 500.00 worth of gift pack items – delivered by the Courier Guy, which is the NBB’s primary brand partner!
The gift pack items have been supplied by the NBBC’s gift pack brand partners – World Sports Betting, Titleist, Louis57 Wines, SteelworkZ, and The Golfers Club.
Once entered, every team is automatically in both the monthly and overall draws.
The monthly draws are fabulous vacation packages sponsored by Dream Hotels & Resorts, with the monthly draw winners shown on the website.
The national draw prizes (these winners will be announced after the Final) include:
- a 7 nights trip to play the Le Chateau and La Reserve Links courses at the Heritage Golf Club in Mauritius
- 4 nights’ packages at the Pearl Valley Hotel in the Cape Winelands
- a fitment prize for 2 complete sets from JE Golf, where the winners will stay at fabulous Fancourt during the fittings
- and finally – a Titleist driver fitting at Eagle Canyon, where the winners will also play golf, and overnight at the Blueberry Hotel.
In total, there are over R 350 000.00 worth of prizes to be won!
As you can see – this really is a tournament where everyone is a winner before they have even teed off!
